Our 2022 Meet & Greet in February was a success.  Thanks to everyone who came out to meet us.

Dr. Curtis Null, Superintendent of CISD, gave a very informative presentation at our March 14, 2019 meeting.  He spoke about the $807M CISD Bond Issue that will be on the May 4th election ballot.

VOTER AWARENESS EVENT

Speakers included chapter president Carl White, Calvin Vinson, State NAACP Assistant Secretary Lawrence Myers, Montgomery County Republican Party Chairman Walter Wilkerson, Montgomery County Young Democrats President Adam Johnson, Precinct 10 Chair Annie Jefferson Burnett, Past Chairman of the Montgomery County Democratic Party Bruce Barnes, Yavonne Martinez and Tanya Nero.  Montgomery County Judge candidate Jay Stittleburg, Texas House District 16 candidate Mike Midler and Montgomery County Democratic Party Chair Marc Meyer attended.  Volunteer Deputy Voter Registrars were present to help voters register.

The Push Democracy Forward event at Booker T. Washington Park on Saturday November 20, 2021 was inspiring. Speakers included Bishop James Dixon (Houston NAACP President), Robert Williams (Organizing Director of Push Democracy Forward), Dr. Candace Matthews (Rainbow Push Coalition), Minister Victor Price, Texas CROWD Fellow Roxy D. Hall Williamson, and Dr. Charlene Glover. Local political candidates attended and introduced themselves.

Allen Mooneyham gave an interesting talk at our June 13, 2019 meeting about the 2020 Census.  The Census is hiring.  Check out our Community page for an information flier.  Check our Resource page for a link to the Census website.

Tanya Nero spoke at our August 9, 2018 meeting about her experiences during a Limited Resource Teacher Training Fellowship in Uganda. It was a fascinating discussion of the cultural differences between our school systems.

Some of our members attended the closing reception for "The Ground Beneath Our Feet." It was a photography exhibit about the historic Freedmen's town of Tamina in Montgomery County and the families that live there. There is a book of the photos and oral histories available from the Texas A&M University Press.

September 17, 2017: Carl White said, “Awesome Day! Members of Montgomery County NAACP, Fallbrook Church, Children Books on Wheels, Living Word World Outreach Church provide supplies to resident in the Town of Woodloch. The home of Ms. Belinda Hackleman was set up as a distribution center. The people in the community were overjoyed to see us there.”

We had a good turnout Meeting August 17, 2017 at the Central Library in Conroe.  Attorney Benton Baker, IV discussed the criminal justice system in Montgomery County.  He encouraged us to get informed about candidates.  A key message was to get out and VOTE if we want improvements in the system.
